Sulmona Italy

Sulmona is a charming town in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. Set in the Valle Peligna and ringed by mountains, it’s known for its beautiful scenery and rich history. The town is famous for its confetti – sugar-coated almonds traditionally given out at celebrations. Sulmona’s past is visible in its well-preserved medieval buildings, including an impressive Gothic aqueduct, the Church of Santa Maria della Tomba, and the Annunziata complex. Birthplace of the Roman poet Ovid, the town honours its cultural heritage with festivals and events throughout the year, making it a lovely place to visit.
