DAY 01: IQUITOS – CUMACEBA AMAZON LODGE

The program begins with a pickup from the airport or your hotel. We will take a walking tour of Iquitos' historic center, visiting landmarks from the Rubber Boom era such as the Iron House (Casa de Hierro), the Palace Hotel, the Cohen House, and more. Afterward, we will head to the dock to travel by boat along the Itaya and the mighty Amazon rivers, passing under the Nanay Bridge—Peru's largest bridge—which connects the city to the countryside. Our first stop will be Fundo Pedrito, where you can see the *paiche* (the world's largest freshwater fish), caimans, and the majestic *Victoria regia* water lily.

Next, we will arrive at Cumaceba Ecolodge, where you will be assigned your cabins. After a traditional lunch, we will take a hike through the primary rainforest to explore its flora and fauna, with the chance to interact with squirrel monkeys. In the evening, following dinner, we will enjoy a canoe ride on Shansho Lagoon, where it is possible to spot small caimans. We will conclude the day by listening to Amazonian myths and legends. Overnight stay at Cumaceba Ecolodge.

DAY 02: LODGE – IQUITOS

At dawn, we will go for a walk to observe birds in their natural habitat and enjoy the sunrise over the Loreto region. After breakfast, we will participate in a recreational fishing activity, trying our hand at catching piranhas and other local species such as sardines and catfish. We will return to the lodge for lunch and, at the scheduled time, begin the journey back to Iquitos, including a transfer to your hotel or the airport.
