From Bangkok to Siem Reap

Day 1: Khao Yai National Park

BANGKOK - AYUTTHAYA - KHAO YAI (Lunch, Dinner)
Early morning departure to reach Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam, founded in 1350. We visit the most important temples of the Historical Park: Wat Mahathat, Wat Phrasrisanphet and Wat Mongkolbophit.
Transfer to Khao Yai.
The rest of the day is devoted to a full immersion in the pristine nature of Thailand's oldest and largest national park. Established since 1962 and covering an area of over 2,000 square kilometers, the park is the home of many endangered species. In 2005 it was declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the park area there are a few waterfalls, including Heo Narok, 80 meters high and made famous by the movie The Beach with Leonardo di Caprio.

Transfer to the hotel, Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Nakhon Si Thammarat

KHAO YAI - KORAT (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Departure to reach Phimai, an impressive 11th century temple which was once part of the Khmer empire. Very large in size (the outer enclosure measures 1020 x 580 meters), it is definitely at the same level with the much more celebrated Angkor Wat complex.

Departure for Phanom Rung Historical Park, a large Khmer complex set on the rim of an extinct volcano. The most famous element of the temple is a decorative lintel placed above the eastern entrance known as Thap Lang Narai. Stolen in the 60's, it resurfaced at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1988 and after long negotiations it was returned to Thailand and placed here.
Arrival in Korat and transfer to the hotel, Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3:

KORAT - ANLONG VENG - SIEM REAP (Breakfast, Lunch)
Departure to the reach the border with Cambodia at Chong Sangam. After the immigration procedures we cross the Dangrek mountains and descend to Anlong Veng, the town where Pol Pot died in 1998. Transfer to Siem Reap. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
